Stephanie Salter

After receiving her journalism degree at Purdue University, Stephanie Salter worked at Sports Illustrated, then joined the San Francisco Examiner (later the Chronicle) where she spent 28 years as a sports, general assignment and investigative reporter, and as an op-ed columnist. She also served on the editorial board.  

In 2004, she returned to Terre Haute, where she worked as a reporter and as an assistant editor for opinion and commentary at the Tribune-Star. She continues to serve as an occasional columnist on the op-ed pages. She now lives with her husband, Bill Fenoglio, in Indianapolis.
