Welcome to IJHF’s new website

The Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame has launched a new website to offer users an easy way to learn about its more than 250 members, all of whom reflect the depth and breadth of Indiana’s contributions to journalism.

“Our members include trailblazers and innovators whose work has changed lives and shaped policy by shining light on challenges in our world,” Linda Negro, Indiana Journalism Hall of Fame board president. “We want to make sure their stories are available to historians, working journalists and student journalists looking for inspiration.”

The new site was created by the Indiana University Media School’s creative team of web developers, designers and content specialists. IJHF and IU have partnered for nearly two decades to support the IJHF and its efforts to celebrate journalists with ties to Indiana. The Media School stores the IJHF archives as well as supports the organization in its annual nomination process and induction ceremony.

This is the second website the IU team has produced for the hall of fame. The reboot offers easier paths to bios of the inductees, news about upcoming nomination deadlines and inductions, and ways to support the nonprofit organization.

“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with IJHF and to help preserve the record of the outstanding journalists whose work has had a lasting impact not just in Indiana, but around the world,” said Anne Kibbler, Media School communications director.

Hall of fame board members will maintain the site going forward with a goal of making member spotlights more prominent.

“Our members include nationally prominent writers, editors, photographers, videographers and newscasters who spend their journalism careers in small towns and large cities, making sure all citizens have access to information that affects their lives,” said Negro. “Regardless of where they work or what kind of contributions they make, journalists are critical to ensuring the public’s right to know and to helping communities of all sizes better understand our world.”
