Kerry Hubartt
Kerry Hubartt retired in 2017 as editor of the (Fort Wayne) News-Sentinel after more than 46 years at the newspaper, including the last 10 as editor. He began working there as a sportswriter in 1971 after graduating from Indiana University. He later became sports editor, news editor and senior editor before being appointed as the newsroom leader in 2007.
He received a master’s degree in journalism from Ball State University in 1979. Hubartt also taught journalism at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne part-time for nearly 30 years. He and his wife have six children, 21 grandchildren and live in Leo-Cedarville, Indiana.
